In the last year, 13-year old Jacob Cramer has been recruiting people nationwide to write personal letters from the heart aimed at cheering up the elderly who may feel alone.
Since July 2013, Jacob has delivered loads of handwritten letters to seniors at assisted living centers and senior centers throughout the country.
Already the letters are making a significant impact in the lives of seniors, says Stephanie Howard, a Cleveland volunteer who distributed letters to residents at several assisted living centers. Cramer also distributed about 80 letters at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Cleveland, where he will spend the Spring volunteering at the activity center.
